Tea anyone?

And cupcakes, of course!   The local pub had a  McMillan Coffee morning last Saturday and I made a few cupcakes for them,  I had to keep a few just to test. An occasional use of the 1960s 'Homemaker' plate.

The tea will keep nice and warm with this little knitted cosy.  I found the pattern on Ravelry and adapted it for this tiny one cup teapot.

Just love the flower on top!

Calorie free cakes.
The apple tree is laden with fruit - I was thinking this was a little earlier than last year and then a programme on TV said it was to do with the weather and apples were a good month earlier.
A bin full of apples.

I can't claim to have made this myself!

It stretched across half the garden (but then my garden is quite small).

This is turning out to be the card of the year.....

Now I have the template for this photo with Happy Birthday printed underneath - it is quite quick and easy to print out and double mount to make a birthday card for 2011.  I'll have to find another image for 2012.

sorted

The craft room (which my son kindly vacated about 7 years ago!) is coming along nicely - I have recently purchased a unit to store my 12inch papers in. It has 9 shelves and I have 5 boxes - it will be so much easier to slide each box from a shelf rather than hunt for the box I require, which is usually at the bottom of the pile.  And on the other shelves I have put the stamp trays.  It required a degree in engineering (and a sonic screwdriver) to fathom out the instructions; and I have millions of polystyrene bits to recycle.

Somewhere underneath all this polystyrene is my unit - at least it survived the post!

5 really useful boxes

and some trays...

And here is something furry that seems to be living in my garden - he was very busy this evening scurrying around taking food under a planter.
awww cute!

Great Northern Quilt Show 2011

The finished quilt 'Well Travelled' hanging at the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate.  Surprisingly, it hung quite straight as I didn't have a floor big enough to spread it out before entering it!  Thanks to H, the ace photographer for taking the photo!

More creativity

I have done a bit of knitting, finished two quilts and made a card this week!

This little mouse was from at Pattern in a recent magazine (I'd also seen the pattern on the internet - the idea is to make little mice for Battersea Cats Home in London and send them to keep their cats company while they wait for new homes.)

Tested out by Tinkerbell - it works a treat!  She loved it from the first moment I gave it to her!
Puss Puss, unfortunately has to make do with the hem of an old curtain!!  She'll get one next, although she's not my favourite cat today - she has peed on my sofa and it's now off to the tip! Or maybe the cat should go to the tip!!!!!!
Quick card for a friend  - Happy Birthday Helen!
