Something for the weekend.....

.... I'm off on a little adventure, so I have bought some more yarn and am going to knit myself a scarf.

Its one row of each of the three colours in garter stitch and tie the ends together to make the fringe.

This was made at the mini workshop at Quilters guild regional day by Springwood Designs

And this is the other side...

A better mouse to play with - fortunately I think Tinkerbell is colourblind - she certainly doesn't see any difference  between this and the real thing!

Be-Dazzled. Bead-azzled, Bedazzled (Workshop)

Yesterday I went to a workshop for the local Embroiderers Guild.  It was a bead inspired day in case you were in doubt about the title!

Win taught us how to make these fabric beads.
Lesley showed us some interesting ways with paper beads - there are lots more decorating options to explore.
Sandra showed us a beading technique I had not tried before - this is spiral staircase

... and here is a close up - I should have used crystal fireline instead of the smoke - but hey - I can make another!!

So Excited.....

Odd count peyote stitch bracelet

and a close up view
I started this little bracelet on Monday night at beading club and did about 2 diamonds in two hours.  Well, I am very pleased to have finished it this evening.  I should have been symmetrical from the centre orange diamond, but I decided not to do that and am glad now because I needed one diamond less than the pattern to go round my wrist.
