I've been sewing......

Jack spotted sitting on the roof of my house....
I think the photos of Jack are probably getting a little same-y now - he is either in the same place on the wire fence or the same place on the wooden fence or down on the ground eating bread!  He seems to have his own little pattern and doesn't often do much else.  So, finding him on the house roof was AMAZING!  I'm easily excited!

My mum made this for the Craft Stamper Challenge....HI MUM!!!! - I know you'll be reading this!

..... and received this in return

and this is the back of the one she received.... HI MUM!!!! -
Little black creatures seem to be drawn to me at the moment - this one stayed for most of the weekend.....

Cute ball of fluff

awwww

nice dinner.....

And she stayed and waited for me by the front door for FOUR hours while I went out for the afternoon!
A mini book for a friend.... photos of her garden - she was delighted!

hanging baskets

I recognise this one - it's a hydrangea (not sure whether I can spell it!!)

And of course - it is 'that' time of year again.....Thornton Scarecrow festival.....

The is Alun outside the Blue Boar, with his knitted scarf and and empty pint glass and the Thornton Directory in his hand.
.. and this lady was spotted knitting on Hugill Street - doesn't she know that knitting club is at the Blue Boar on a Friday afternoon.....

Thank goodness for the canals...

... well The Golden Age of Canals actually.  Without such an interesting programme I would probably not have finished the pearl and crystal bracelet this evening.

With  five bar magnetic clasp.

This bracelet is very very pretty and sparkly - princess stuff!!!
Last week I was here....

and saw a 1960s set of pottery with a very nice sunflower design, but alas it was too big a set and too expensive, but then this afternoon I popped into my local charity shop and found the very same design, but much cheaper and less pieces.

A couple of dinner plates....

... and some cups and saucers.
Last week I received the last of the Craft Stamper swap items  - we had to make a postcard....

I had just bought these cupcake stamps and had to use them....

And in return, I received this lovely postcard from Elizabeth - thanks very much - I especially like the 'stamps' and the postmarks.
The birds were out in force today....

10 cheeky sparrows......

9 hungry pigeons....

2 Ja - a -ck Daws....
etc etc....

What else have I done recently.... oh yes I spent most of last week sitting in a comfortable position and knitting.....

samosas

and more cakes!

finished....

Here are a couple of things I have finished this week and hop on over to Cotton Confetti to see the little quilt I finished today....

I decided to sew a brooch back onto this little primrose made in brick stitch.  It is quite fragile so I shall need to be careful where I pin it!

Remember this blanket that I started crocheting a few blogs back?  Well here it is finished - fits a double bed quite nicely.... and there's still some yarn left over.

Folded to show a closer view - there are still 'tails' to sew in.

The bracelet now has the clasp attached at both ends.....

..... and I have started the third row of picots along one of the sides.

It rained quite a lot on the return journey from the Loch Lomond Quilt Show - these ducks were swimming in a puddle in the car park at the service station!

Son of crochet blanket with my mum's very scary plastic cat!  This one is going to be suitable for a lap quilt it is a quarter of the size of the big one.

Many thanks to Sally S for the altered matchbox swap from Craft Stamper.....

..... and here is the view of the inside!  Love the bird stamps and the gold sparkles.

A typical Monday in May

Started this bracelet at bead club this evening - we need two lengths of odd count peyote to go round the wrist.... so I now have HOMEWORK!!!!!

Made this a few weeks ago at bead club - apologies if I have shown it before.

A pair of earrings made by coiling wire around a marble.

More wire-work to make a bracelet.

Surprise, surprise - my altered matchbox is on the web site of Craft Stamper magazine this month!
And here is a closeup!

Flower arranging.......

And here is a card I made recently.....

My parent's 60th Wedding Anniversary was on 31 March - so here is my very subtle diamond anniversary card.

This was the swap I received from Crafts Stamper twinchie swap thanks Wendy - It's FAB!

This is the twinchie I sent in.
